The Milton-Union Schools Food Service staff members continue to successfully serve our district student population. Food Service staff members fill a specialized role and are happy to meet these responsibilities on a daily basis. Although nutrition is important, meeting federal guidelines and maintaining a self-funded operation offer unique challenges non-existent in the past. Consequently, school lunch menus have changed substantially over the course of several years, and our staff members have instituted processes to keep costs low while continuing to meet federal nutritional guidelines as efficiently as possible. For example, over the course of the 2016-17 school year, Milton-Union Food Service staff members served over 121,000 standard (Type A) lunches and over 31,000 breakfast trays to our students.
We appreciate the consistent work and commitment of our Food Service staff members!
