Weekly Update

Good evening Elementary Bulldog Families this is Principal Henderson with your Weekly Update:

Each Friday between 5:00 and 7:00pm you will receive a phone call from me.  It will contain information about school, reminders about events happening as well as important information that needs to be communicated to our families.  If you do not answer the call and have your voicemail set up the message will automatically go to voicemail.  If you do not have voicemail, you will be able to read the message on the elementary website under the news tab or on the Milton Union Elementary Facebook page.

Some beginning of the year reminders:

Please be overly patient next week with drop off and pick up in front of the school.  Beginning Monday, all 103 kindergarten students will be attending and that will slow us down for the next few days.  Each day should get better and better until we are once again a well-oiled machine.

Parents, please remember the right-hand lane is to drop your students off and not a place to park.  If you need to give one more hug, write a note, fix a hair emergency, etc. please pull into the parking spaces adjacent to the elementary.

Any changes in transportation for the end of the day MUST be communicated to the office by 2:15. Please do not message your child’s teacher the change.  Often our teachers do not see their phones until students have left the building AND our office needs to know each student’s whereabouts until they are home or with their family.  This Is for your child’s safety.

The last reminder is about breakfast and lunch.  Please let your child’s teacher know if your child is NOT supposed to eat breakfast at school.  Breakfast and lunch are no longer automatically free and if you prefer them to not eat breakfast at school, we need to know that information.  Additionally, please discuss with your child whether they are permitted to purchase extra snacks in addition to their school lunch. Those are now available to all students grade K-5.

Thank you for a great start and we are looking forward to a spectacular school year.
