Ohio’s Traditional School and District Report Cards use a star rating system in six component areas to communicate performance. Complicated statistics and technical rules are involved in scoring each one of the component areas constituting an overall star rating for school buildings and districts.

For example, several different data points are included in the College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness (CCWMR) component for Milton-Union High School. The CCWMR component measures how prepared a graduating class is as they transition to post-secondary education, enter the workforce, or join the armed forces. The readiness of a graduating class is estimated by calculating the number of students that achieve one or more of the component measure goals. Please note that these data are reported by the Department of Education and Workforce one year in arrears. Therefore, the most recent report card measures and communicates the performance of the Milton-Union High School Graduating Class of 2024.

For Milton-Union High School, key areas and relative performance compared to the approximate 800 other rated buildings across the state are as follows.

  • Students demonstrating readiness by earning 12 or more college credits. MUHS performance in top 10% of rated buildings in Ohio

  • Students demonstrating readiness by earning a remediation-free score or higher on the SAT or ACT. MUHS performance in top 25% of rated buildings in Ohio

  • Students demonstrating readiness by earning the Ohio Means Jobs Readiness Seal. MUHS performance in the top 5% of rated buildings in Ohio

  • Students demonstrating readiness by at least one recognized element/pathway in the calculation. MUHS performance in the top 20% of rated buildings in Ohio

Congratulations to the Milton-Union High School students, teachers, staff members, parents, and families. Also, these are points of pride for all teachers and staff members across the district who invest so much in helping students grow and meet their potential. Everyone can celebrate the culmination of effort toward student success!
