The Board of Education approved calendar for the 2026-27 school year has been posted on the district website for several weeks. Please note a couple of significant differences from previous years that could impact planning for parents and families.
Historically, the district has avoided beginning new school years during the Miami County Fair. Because Fair Week falls a bit differently than prior years, the first student day on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, is later than usual.
Next, holidays and breaks are comparable to previous years with no school the day before Thanksgiving. The timing and length of Christmas Break is also similar, but a significant difference is the shortened Spring Break. School will not be in session for students Thursday, March 25, 2027, through Monday, March 29, 2027. Fewer non-student days in the spring allows the district to avoid extending the school year to June 2027. The final student day will be Thursday, May 27, 2027, so next school year will be complete prior to Memorial Day.
Our rising seniors, members of the Milton-Union High School Class of 2027, will participate in their commencement ceremony on the evening of Friday, May 21, 2027.
