Milton-Union Elementary students learned the meaning of Veteran’s Day and honored (and will be honoring) Veterans with special projects and events. We would like to thank you for your service and protection.
-November 22nd at 6:30PM the 1st grade students will be performing in our annual Veteran’s Day Concert. All 5 branches of the military will be recognized.
- Students created self portraits of themselves as a Veteran in Art. Those portraits will be available for viewing at the Veteran’s Day Concert.
- Students wrote letters and drew pictures for Veterans. Mrs. Carpenter delivered over 200 of them to 6 different Veteran’s organizations.
- Students wrote, read, created books, discussed and watched videos about Veterans and Veteran’s Day.
We still have a lot of cookie dough to be picked up! pick up ends at 6:00pm.
Good evening elementary families. Just a reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday November 10th, is our fundraiser pick up from 3 PM to 6 PM. Pick up will be in the back of the high school parking lot past the tennis courts. All orders must be picked up tomorrow as many of the items require refrigeration or freezing. If you are unable to pick up the order, please have someone pick it up on your behalf.
Due to shipping delays, school pictures will be coming home Monday, October 25th with your child. Picture retake day has been rescheduled for Friday, November 5th. We appreciate your patience with the delay with shipment.
It is great to have families be able to enjoy a movie night together at our Family Literacy Event. All students at the Elementary will get a book or novelette of Raya and the Last Dragon to celebrate reading.
Tonight is Family Night at the elementary. We will be introducing our literacy events for the year and watching Raya and the Last Dragon. Doors open at 6:30pm and the movie starts promptly at 7:00pm. Bring a blanket and drinks, popcorn will be provided. We look forward to seeing you!
Just a reminder to our elementary parents: Please do not start the elementary pick up line until after 2:45. Having cars parked in the dismissal area blocks the middle and high school dismissal and causes a back up. If you arrive early, please swing around and park in a parking spot until their dismissal is finished.
This morning, the district has been unable to make outgoing or receive incoming calls. Frontier has been contacted for technical support. We will provide an update when the issue is corrected. The district has other means of emergency communication if necessary. Thank you!

Good Evening Elementary Bulldog Families, it’s time for your weekly update with Principal Henderson.
Each Friday one of these messages will be sent to give you information on the upcoming happenings at school. This information will also be posted under the News section of the Milton-Union Elementary School website and app.
This week there are a few things I would like to draw your attention to:
Starting next week, students who are eating breakfast at school will be allowed in the building at 8:30 so they can drop their things off in their classroom, get their lunch card and go to the cafeteria and eat. We want our students back in class as soon as possible so they don’t miss instructional time. Students who are not eating breakfast will enter the building at 8:40 and head directly to their homeroom.
Also, I would like to welcome to the Elementary, Mrs. Grube. Mrs. Grube is the district Student Services Coordinator as well as an Elementary Administrator. She will be working primarily with grades 4 and 5, but will also be available to help with our primary grades as needed. I will be the K-3 Principal, but will be supporting Mrs. Grube with grades 4 and 5 as needed. We will send a letter home next week with more information about this. We are very lucky to have her help in the elementary.
This concludes this week’s message. Have a fantastic weekend
Good morning elementary families. If you are picking up your child tonight in the pick-up line there are a few reminders that will help the process go smoothly and quickly tonight. 1. Your child brought home in their folder a sign with their first and last name on it. Please display it prominently in the passenger side dash board. 2. Remain in your car. Your child will be called out to you. If you exit your car all other cars behind you cannot move. 3. Please be patient. We have new families who are learning the process and it will run like clockwork by Monday if everyone follows these guidelines.
The elementary busses just pulled out of the elementary parking lot. Your child will be getting off of the bus approximately 45 minutes later than their scheduled drop off time.
Good afternoon Elementary families. If your child is riding the bus home, please anticipate a 15-30 minute delay. It is the first day of school and we have many new bus riders. I appreciate your patience.
MU students are having great experiences at Space Camp this week! Monday the Mobile Planetarium from the Challenger Center visited and today the students created and launched their own rockets!
