BULLDOG BLAST
January 12 – January 19
INTRODUCTION:
I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Greg Southers and I am currently the interim principal at Milton Union Elementary School. I will be in place until Mrs. Blankenship returns in February. I am a retired principal and served as the Milton Union Middle School principal for two years in the early 2020’s. I am excited about my return to the district and to work with a such a great staff again. If community members have any questions or concerns, please let me know. My email address is southersg@muschools.com .
IMPORTANT DATES:
Wednesday, January 14 Last Day of the Second Quarter
Thursday, January 15 No School – Teacher In-Service
Friday, January 16 No School
Monday, January 19 No School – Martin L. King Jr. Day
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This week the Milton Union schools conducted a state of Ohio mandated Safety Drill where staff and students practiced what to do if there was an intruder in the building. An announcement was made and staff members worked with the students on the proper procedures and protocols to follow if it was an actual emergency. To reduce student anxiety, the drill was conducted in a non-threatening manner and staff used the time to review all of the things our students need to know to keep them safe. Staff and students did an amazing job.
When school is out, the fun is in! 🎉 Healthy Kids offers School’s Out Program at Milton-Union. Schools Out Program helps bridge the gap when school is closed or releases early, so your child is cared for in a familiar, structured environment. We plan engaging activities, group games, and special crafts to keep the day exciting—offering the perfect mix of fun and supervision that brings peace of mind to families and consistency for kids.

Attendance is the greatest factor that impacts learning. Help your child be successful by making it a priority that your student is in attendance each day ready to learn. Let’s see if we can beat the 90% rate we earned in December.
Mrs. Berner and Mr. Cooper will be in Kindergarten and First Grade classrooms next week talking to students about Child Abuse Awareness.
I hope everyone had a great holiday break. The elementary staff is excited to be back and working with our great students.
