We've updated our school's attendance policy to include remote learning. To view these changes, please read https://5il.co/ljrr. If you have any questions, please contact the MS office. Thanks!
Good morning! This year we will be having parent-teacher conferences virtually instead of in person. Virtual conferences will be held next Thursday, October 8th between 3:30 and 7:00. If you would like to schedule a conference, please complete this Form: https://tinyurl.com/y6sd2o6p . If you need to meet with multiple teachers, you will need to complete a Form for each teacher. Forms must be completed by this Friday evening. Teachers will communicate with parents next week about the time and provide a link for the virtual conference. Thanks!
Next week is Homecoming week here at MU! While this homecoming won’t be traditional in many ways, we’re going to have a spirit week to celebrate our school pride. Please see the attached themes for each day next week. Go Dogs!!
The annual Soapy Joe fundraiser is in full swing with the band and choir classes. Order forms are due Thursday. This will be our only fundraiser this year. Thanks for supporting the music programs!
Homework Club is once again being offered here at the Middle School. This free access to homework help will be open to any 6th, 7th or 8th grader who would like to stay after school for a quiet place to complete work and get assistance from a teacher. Homework Club will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:30. We will also provide a healthy snack to students who attend. Unfortunately, we will not be able to write bus passes for the Elementary buses this year. Students who stay for Homework Club will need to have transportation arranged at 3:30 for each day they stay. We hope to see you there!
Picture Day is this Friday, September 25th. All MS students got an order envelope today. Get ready to smile!! 😁📸

It’s almost time for school!! Please get a good night’s sleep, bring your charged computer, and don’t forget to bring your water bottle! Drinking fountains will not be available. Students should have water only (no sports drinks, coffee, or any other drink). We will have water to refill the bottles as needed, but every student needs to have their own water bottle. 😊 💦 See you in the morning!

Attention 7th grade parents: This is a reminder from our school nurse, Mrs. Thompson, that all 7th graders must have proof of meningitis and tdap vaccination turned in by the first day of school. These may be turned in the office, faxed (937) 884-7931 or emailed to ThompsonL@muschools.com.
Good afternoon, Bulldogs! Welcome back to 2020-2021 school year! This year we're having our Open House virtually. Each teacher has put together a video for students and parents to get to know them better, and feel more comfortable coming back to school. Please find all of these videos on the banner of the Middle School webpage. We're very excited to welcome students back in to the building next Tuesday! See you soon! :)
Good morning! :) To help with safety and physical spacing, we will be assigning students to tables in the cafeteria for lunch this year. We would like to have all MS students seated with at least one friend. Please have your MS child complete this form before next Monday afternoon, August 31st to help us with this. :) Students will receive their lunch table assignment on the first day. MS Schedule Update: We have been working hard to minimize and even out our class sizes to help facilitate physical distancing for our students and teachers. We rebuilt the master schedule, and scheduled each student one by one to ensure we kept class sizes as low and even as possible. Through this process we were able to keep almost every single class at 20 or less. 😁 The down side to this is that not all students got the electives classes they wanted (although many did 😊) While in a typical year we would be happy to change schedules to help get kids their desired electives, this year we will not be able to honor any schedule change requests. While we regret this, our highest priority needs to be student and faculty safety. All middle school schedules are going to be mailed next Tuesday, August 25th, so check your mail. We can’t wait to see you in person! Keep watching social media for more information about reopening! 😊
Good evening, Bulldogs! I'm so excited that we'll be welcoming students back into the building in just three weeks! :) While there are still a LOT of questions unanswered, and unknowns, I will fill you all in as soon as I can. One thing I did want to let you know about now is that we're going to be using lockers, but students will not have access during every class change, as we'll be dividing that up alphabetically. All students will be able to use their lockers at arrival, once during morning classes, at lunchtime, once during afternoon classes, and at the end of the day. We are also allowing students to carry clear backpacks with them throughout the school day if they would prefer that. We typically do not allow any students to carry backpacks from class to class for safety reasons, but this year will allow this for clear backpacks. Clear backpacks are not required, but they are permitted. If you have any questions about this, please contact the Middle School office. Thanks!
Attention 6th grade students and parents: Students can be in band for the first time in 6th Grade! Because we didn’t get to try instruments this spring, Mr. Roberts has developed a website for the band program: https://muband.wixsite.com/muband. Make sure to check out the 6th Grade Band section, Instruments Tab, and FAQ Tab. After checking out the website, if you’d like to try an instrument in person, you can call and go to Kincaid’s Music, (937) 325-7071 https://www.kincaidsmusic.com/. If you find you’d like to play a particular instrument and you are not interested in playing it first, that’s fine too! If you are unsure of which instrument, but know that you want to participate in band, no problem! We’ll figure that out soon enough. In any case, if you are interested in participating in band or have any questions, please email Mr. Roberts at email@example.com as soon as possible. The deadline for signing up is next Thursday, August 20th. Simply send an email with the student’s first and last name. Be sure to include which instrument you’re interested in if you have figured that out. I hope to see you in the band!
