Reminder: there is a rising 9th grade parent meeting (for current 8th grade parents) on Thursday, February 26 at 6:30 in the cafeteria.

Recently, Milton-Union Middle School has partnered with members of the Milton-Union High School National Honor Society to create a peer-tutoring program.
Middle School students meet and work with NHS members each Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during Bulldog Break time, and receive additional support and assistance in Language Arts, Math, Science and with any missing assignments.
On behalf of the Milton-Union Middle School, I would like to thank Mrs. Sherwood (NHS Advisor) and the MUHS National Honor Society members for your willingness to be difference makers for our students academically, while also building positive relationships and being good role models for our MUMS students!

Attention parents of 6th and 7th grade students: Mrs. Honeycutt will be in social studies classes this week to help your students plan for next school year! Students will be using PowerSchool to request classes for the 26-27 school year.

This past Saturday, the Junior High Solo and Ensemble event was hosted at Arcanum Schools.
Milton-Union Middle School had 24 instrumental performances and 4 vocal performances.
18 instrumental solos, 3 vocal solos, and 2 instrumental ensembles received a One (the highest rating)
2 instrumental solos, 2 instrumental ensembles, and 1 vocal ensemble received a Two
The work these students put into these performances was incredible. Congratulations to all of the participants and their families on these incredible accomplishments!

Attention parents of 8TH GRADE STUDENTS: there will be a parent information meeting for rising freshmen next Thursday, February 26 at 6:30pm in the cafeteria. Hope to see you all there!

Mrs. Eveyln Brady's middle school art classes have been working with Mrs. Bellas's art classes in the elementary. and with the first and third grade students in Mrs. Huelsman's and Mrs. Falldorf's classes. During these class visits, the elementary students described and designed a creature with the seventh and eighth grade students. Mrs. Brady's students came back to the classroom using the materials the elementary student selected and sewed their creations. All of the students will meet again next week and return the finished products.




Congratulations to the Milton-Union Middle School students that earned 4.0 GPA Principal's List, 3.6-3.9 GPA Principal's List or the 3.2-3.5 GPA Honor Roll List for the second quarter of the 2025-2026 school year. Each of you should be extremely proud of your hard work, resilience and your commitment to excellence in the classroom. Students in grades six through eight have been assigned individual devices, and classwork will be delivered through Microsoft Teams.
As for Mr. Firks and Mr. Lane, we will continue to battle ‘Snowmageddon 2026’ to get our students back to school as safely and quickly as possible!

The Miami County Solid Waste District held its annual Recycled Ornament Contest for 2025. Students are encouraged to create ornaments using recycled materials and craft supplies. One of this year's winners is 7th grader, Cora Farley, and her charming cardboard gingerbread girl!

The Miami County 4-H wanted to share information on their second annual 4-H Parents’ Night. This event is designed to introduce parents to the many opportunities 4-H offers for youth development, including hands-on learning experiences, leadership growth, and fun community involvement. We’ll have light snacks, engaging activities for kids, and plenty of information to help families discover all that 4-H has to offer.

As part of the "12 Days of Christmas" spirit days, Milton-Union Middle and High Schools celebrated the 67th day of the school year. The office staffs truly got into the spirit of 6-7 day with custom made shirts! And what's this weekend? December 6 and 7!!

On November 18 & 19, the MUMS 8th graders visited the MVCTC. This trip gives 8th graders a glimpse of what it's like to attend the CTC by participating in two career exploration labs and touring the campus. It's a wonderful learning experience for our middle school students!
