MS Schedule Update: We have been working hard to minimize and even out our class sizes to help facilitate physical distancing for our students and teachers. We rebuilt the master schedule, and scheduled each student one by one to ensure we kept class sizes as low and even as possible. Through this process we were able to keep almost every single class at 20 or less. 😁 The down side to this is that not all students got the electives classes they wanted (although many did 😊) While in a typical year we would be happy to change schedules to help get kids their desired electives, this year we will not be able to honor any schedule change requests. While we regret this, our highest priority needs to be student and faculty safety. All middle school schedules are going to be mailed next Tuesday, August 25th, so check your mail. Good evening, Bulldogs! I'm so excited that we'll be welcoming students back into the building in just three weeks! :) While there are still a LOT of questions unanswered, and unknowns, I will fill you all in as soon as I can. One thing I did want to let you know about now is that we're going to be using lockers, but students will not have access during every class change, as we'll be dividing that up alphabetically. All students will be able to use their lockers at arrival, once during morning classes, at lunchtime, once during afternoon classes, and at the end of the day. We are also allowing students to carry clear backpacks with them throughout the school day if they would prefer that. We typically do not allow any students to carry backpacks from class to class for safety reasons, but this year will allow this for clear backpacks. Clear backpacks are not required, but they are permitted. If you have any questions about this, please contact the Middle School office. Thanks!
Attention 6th grade students and parents: Students can be in band for the first time in 6th Grade! Because we didn’t get to try instruments this spring, Mr. Roberts has developed a website for the band program: https://muband.wixsite.com/muband. Make sure to check out the 6th Grade Band section, Instruments Tab, and FAQ Tab. After checking out the website, if you’d like to try an instrument in person, you can call and go to Kincaid’s Music, (937) 325-7071 https://www.kincaidsmusic.com/. If you find you’d like to play a particular instrument and you are not interested in playing it first, that’s fine too! If you are unsure of which instrument, but know that you want to participate in band, no problem! We’ll figure that out soon enough. In any case, if you are interested in participating in band or have any questions, please email Mr. Roberts at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. The deadline for signing up is next Thursday, August 20th. Simply send an email with the student’s first and last name. Good morning! I hope you all had a great holiday weekend. :) I wanted to remind everyone that students have until this Thursday, May 28th at 3:00 pm to submit any missing assignments. Students need to contact the teacher through Teams or email to let them know which assignment they completed. Grades will be finalized this Friday, May 29th. We will mail report cards late next week. Those students who have been working on the enrichment menu are not required to complete activities to turn in this week, however I encourage all of you to continue these over the summer to keep your minds and bodies active and healthy! :)

Good afternoon! Our amazing custodians have emptied all student lockers, and students’ belongings have been labeled with their name and locker number. We will have a “drive through” curbside pick up of these items any time next Thursday, May 21st between 9am and noon, and next Friday, May 22nd from 1pm to 4pm. Parents should simply drive up to the front of the Middle School and we will get you your child’s belongings. If you have any library books, you can turn those in as well. 😊 We look forward to seeing you soon!
Good afternoon! Tomorrow, Monday, May 4th, we will begin a new model of learning for the remainder of the school year. Please note, school is NOT over for the year! Students who have done a good job of keeping up with their work and all/most of their grades are good will begin completing a weekly 'menu' of activities tomorrow. If you are in this group, you have been added to a Team called 'MUMS May 2020'. Students should log into Teams and read the information about the weekly activities, and how they will complete the 'Assignment' using Teams. I am also attaching the menu here for all parents and students to look at. :) Students who have not kept up with their work during this distance learning time should expect to hear from the teacher(s) whose class(es) you're not doing well in. Good morning, Bulldogs! I want to congratulate and thank all of the teachers, students and parents who have worked so hard over the last month to keep our students learning! This hasn't been easy. :) Parents, if you haven't checked your child's grades on Power School recently, please do that soon. We are seeing that students who have completed all or most of their work are earning great grades! Those who are missing work are not. Please use Power School as a means of checking work completion. Teachers are accepting late work, so it's not too late to get caught up. To those students who are all caught up on their work, have an awesome break! For students who are behind on getting work done and submitted, now is the perfect time to get caught up! If students or parents have any questions about specific grades or assignments, please reach out to the teachers. They are anxious to help all students succeed! This is a message for students who do NOT have internet access and were completing work on paper only: The school library will be open on Fridays for the next three weeks from noon until 6pm for work drop off and pick up. Please bring completed work with the student's and teacher's name to the school library this Friday at any time between noon and 6pm.
